Great news, the farmers in Liberia is doing extremely well. The latest World Bank report about the country's economy gives the Ministry of Agriculture so much hope and joy. Yesterday, the report was released, and the report stated that Liberia’s farming sector is really growing and creating more jobs for the citizens.

The Liberian Agricultural industry is on the path to resilience growth and creating productive opportunities. This is not just about numbers or chats. They're telling a story about how farming is now becoming the most important part of the Liberian economy. Many years ago, in Liberia, farming was the main source of providing food for many families in Liberia. But now farming is changing the entire country, it's starting to help many people, while building the economy, creating jobs, and real business opportunities for the citizens of Liberia.

The Agricultural Ministry shows progress

The economy of Liberia grew by 4.0% in 2024, and the reports showed that farming was a big part of that success. The Agricultural industry of Liberia is growing fast. Agriculture grew by 3.4% in Liberia, and its much larger than the 1.4% growth of the year before. This tells you that farming alone is a huge success in the entire Liberian economy.

These are some of the highlights

The Agricultural Minister of Liberia Dr. J Alexander Nuetah, said it was several key things that helped the economy.

With all of these results, this is proof that we're heading in the right direction. Said Alexander Nuetah.

The main focus is modern farming, homegrown food for the people of Liberia and with all these reports, you can see it really paying off. Dr Nuetah said. Farming is still the backbone of our economy and, we're creating more jobs for our citizens and reducing poverty.

Success of Farming

Yes, the farming industry of Liberia is booming, and the economy is growing, but the Agricultural Ministry knows it still has some challenges. The reports from World Bank said that the are some areas that still need help, like the palm oil production, because it has gone down. The World bank also said there's a lot of work needed, they need to process and package the crops so the Agricultural Ministry in Liberia can grow, and not just to sell those raw goods.

Some of the serious issues in Liberia is that many local farmers failed to get money, sponsorship, or a loan that will help them to grow their farming business. Sadly, it’s hard for some farmers to buy equipment for their farm and it also makes it harder for their farms to grow.

In able to fix such problems, the Agricultural Ministry of Liberia is looking for help from other countries, investors, private companies, or partnerships that will help the farming industry in Liberia and will also provide financial support to many farmers locally in Liberia.

The goal of the Agricultural Ministry is to turn farming into a modern business and give citizens, local farmers, jobs and loans that will help them and their families, especially the young women. Agriculture in Liberia is not just about farming or survival, they want farmers to grow and thrive.

We're building a brighter future for Mama Liberia.

Dr. Alexander Nuetah explained.

It's not just about growing food, we're opening doors for the new generation of farmers who want to be entrepreneurs in the future.

Our vision for Agriculture in Liberia is to improve lives, reduce poverty, and strengthen our people and economy. We're creating hope for Mama Liberia.

The World bank has confirmed that Liberia’s farming industry is on top of its game. The Agricultural Ministry is calling for everyone to join and help keep the progress going. If you're a farmer or just growing little crops in your garden, this is the time to make it much bigger and help mama Liberia.

These are what they're asking for.

We want our farmers to be able to sell their products easier to their customers and earn a fair price of their products.

The Agricultural Ministry has made a wonderful progress, our farms are now producing a lot of crops, and our farmers are working hard, the real success comes when the products are sold out and create more jobs for the citizens of Mama Liberia.

We have planted the seeds of change, it’s time for us, the Liberians, to water it with action, and investment will come, so that Mama Liberia can grow into a great nation that we would be able to help our children and help grow our economy.
